The
presentation of the Association was made in July, 2009, and was attended
by prominent Azerbaijani scientists, specialists of respiratory medicine
– pulmonologists, allergologists, E.N.T. specialists, oncologists
as well as physicians, pediatrists, microbiologists, biochemists,
pathologists, biophysicists and chemists. Moreover, heads of the Azerbaijani
representations of many pharmaceutical companies, representatives
of public organizations and foundations also participated at the ceremony.
The chiefs of the scientific sections of the Association were nominated,
discussed and approved at the presentation. Cooperation directions
with the pharmaceutical companies and foundations were also discussed
and defined. It was decided to hold annual national respiratory congresses.
- A conference devoted
to modern concepts of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
was held on November, 4th, 2009. Conference programme:
